I’ve never been much of a gadget person, so when I decided to try a CBD vape pen for 30 days, I went in with low expectations and an open mind. I wanted to see if it fit into my routine, whether I actually liked using it, and if anything about it annoyed me. A month later, I’ve got real thoughts. Here’s the honest version.
Why I Tried It
I had heard about CBD from my friends, primarily those who would talk about using it to relax in the evening, so I had been curious for a while now. I liked the vape format over measuring out oils or having to pop a capsule with food because I felt it was easier. I liked the idea of something I could grab and use for a minute and then put down. No cleanup, no dropper, no math!
I would just like to state from the beginning, that I am not making any health claims here! This wasn’t used to treat any particular ailment and isn’t a medical remedy. It’s just my experiences and kinks.
The First Week
The first couple of days was mostly settling in to the operation. Some trial and error was necessary to get the right amount of time, frequency and feeling comfortable. I coughed the first couple of times, normal according to what I read, especially if you’re new to it. After day 4 or 5 I had a pattern going that satisfied me.
Was surprised by taste. When I bought it I thought it was going to be a very salty, harsh taste so I just expected to get that but it actually had a mild, earthey taste that I really liked. It was not bad and went away soon.
What I Actually Liked
The kicker for me was convenience. It was resting in a drawer by my couch and it became a reduction of effort when I made use of it at night. Did not need to schedule for around it or set reminders. This was the thing that made me stick with it for a whole month, and that is exactly why I got my car here!
On effects, that will be kept grounded. There was a little bit of a cosyness to the evening, that sort of cosyness like having a warm cup of tea or a quiet few minutes. It is not a dramatic event, nor am I going to exaggerate. I felt it on certain nights; others I didn’t. I’m not sure if it was the CBD, the pause or simply a pitty pat of a break. But I loved that moment none the less. Plus, I really like the portability! It was easy to put into a bag on a weekend jaunt, and I didn’t need to be concerned about spills or leaks like I would with a bottle.
The Small Downsides
But it wasn’t all easy. I had a few minor point of interest throughout the month.
First, battery life. On days with more students, I am taking it out more and more than I would like, and getting charged up sooner than I would like. This wasn’t a deal breaker, but I would plug it in a few times throughout the week so I had to do that twice.
Second, maintenance. I thought the vape pen would be completely hands-free, but the mouthpiece required periodic wiping, and I noticed that the draw was slightly less towards the end of the cartridge. Nothing earth shattering, just a bit of maintenance that I was not fully anticipating on entering.
Thirdly, costs accumulate. Just like every other part on a projector, cartridges are not infinite, and if you use it on a regular basis, you will change the cartridges much more frequently than you’d imagine. If you’re not doing this for the short-term, it may be well worth your while to set aside some funds.
Would I Keep Using It?
After 30 days, my take is measured. I liked the simplicity, the flavor was fine, and the evening ritual became something I looked forward to in a low-key way. The subtle effects were pleasant enough that I didn’t feel like I was wasting my time.
But the battery quirks, the small maintenance, and the ongoing cost are real considerations. If you go in expecting a perfect, effortless device, you might feel a little let down by those details.
For me, the pros edged out the cons, and I’ll probably keep it around as part of my wind-down routine. My advice? Try it with realistic expectations. Treat it as one small tool rather than a magic fix, pay attention to how your own body and habits respond, and decide from there. That’s the most honest recommendation I can give.
